FBI Ditches CAIR

January 31, 2009 by Justin View Comments

From Fox News:

The FBI is severing its once-close ties with the nation’s largest Muslim advocacy group, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, amid mounting evidence that it has links to a support network for Hamas.

Named as an un-indicted co-conspirator after a 15 year investigation that came to a head at the Holy Land Foundation trial.  Yep, that’s a pretty good reason to sever ties.

Michael Savage vows to take Islam fight to Supreme Court
By Aaron Klein

Talk-radio host Michael Savage has announced he will bring his recently dismissed copyright infringement lawsuit against the Council of American-Islamic Relations to the U.S. Supreme Court in hopes of making public the Islamic group’s sources of funding.

I’m impressed with his chutzpah. The CAIR legal machine and the system’s devotion to political correctness leave Savage without much of a chance, but I’m still impressed.

Muslims urged to step up political action in U.S.
By T.J. GREANEY of the Tribune’s staff

The Council on American-Islamic Relations wants people to know that Muslims in the United States are deeply patriotic. A large majority of them hoist the American flag outside their homes and businesses, celebrate the Fourth of July and vote.

I sympathize with the oppressed minorities out there, but I always have to question CAIR’s motives. Wouldn’t it be possible to accomplish something worthwhile without the backing of such a controversial group?

Islamist group censors Tampa TV

August 24, 2007 by Justin View Comments

ST. PETERSBURG — Televangelist Bill Keller may have finally met an opponent he can’t out-talk.

The controversial late-night Christian talk show host, known for his biting criticism of religious, political and pop culture figures, is going off the air. Keller, 49, says he ran afoul of the Tampa Chapter of the Council of American Islamic Relations. The group calls Live Prayer with Bill Keller a hate-filled broadcast that damages Muslims and Islam.

Earlier this month, CAIR asked CBS executives to remove Keller’s nightly talk show from WTOG-TV Ch. 44, a CBS-owned station that airs the CW network locally. The group was upset about a spate of recent broadcasts by Keller that disparaged Islam and the prophet Mohammad.

I’ve never been a fan of television evangelists. Heck, I can’t even think of one I like right off the top of my head. However, someone was nice enough to post the “indictment” of this guy on YouTube:

I don’t consider myself to be much of a theologian, but his stance seems to be a very truthful presentation of the standard Protestant view of Islam. Have we reached the point where Christians must keep their opinions to themselves for no other reason than Political Correctness? Better question: when will we stop laying down and taking it?

Just to add to the fun, CAIR has ties to Hamas and is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial.
